3D Printing – Lessons learned

Here are my tips for you if you are new to 3D printing.

I will document everything that I learned and that I would have wished to know in advance.

Important parameters to set in your slicer:

-“ infill density“ – 10% or even smaller is enough for most of your prints and you save money and time.

-„maximum retraction count“ in the slicer was default much too high in my slicer (100), so my printer pulled back the filament much too often and flattened it with the gear until it no longer fit into the tube and was torn. thus the print was always interrupted…. if you want to elaborate prints, set it to 10…. That’s enough.

-„Maximum retraction distance“ … so how many mm it retracts. is also default a little too high default… 3-4 mm should suffice.
